Developing an Autonomous Cloud: In-Depth Insights into Our New Project

Following recent discussions on the critical dependency on major IT service providers, I am excited to introduce a project I have initiated. This venture demonstrates how digital sovereignty can be achieved through the use of open-source software and collaboration with European service providers.
Infrastructure Overview
I have developed a fully automated, secure, flexible, and cost-effective infrastructure. A visual representation at the top of this post illustrates our thoughtfully scaled and securely configured network structure, ranging from proxy servers to databases.

Flexibility and Scalability
Our platform is not just limited to collaboration tools; it serves as a universal base that can be modified for a wide array of applications. This includes blogging systems like Ghost, content management systems like WordPress, and even complex automation software like Camunda.
Key Components of the Infrastructure
The following elements are crucial for the efficiency and security of our cloud environment:
- Hosting: Hetzner Cloud
- Domain Management: Domain-Offensive
- Collaboration and Office: Nextcloud with Collabora Office
- Project Management: OpenProject
Join Me on This Journey
Over the next few weeks, I will provide detailed presentations of each component of our infrastructure. I will highlight the strengths and challenges of each element and explain how this blueprint can be expanded and adapted for various purposes.
I encourage you to participate in this discussion, share your thoughts, and engage in the conversation. Together, we can demonstrate and promote the feasibility of alternative IT solutions.
What are your thoughts on a fully independent and open infrastructure? What tools or platforms would you like to see integrated into such a system?
